Veterans Transportation Service

VTS LogoVeterans Transportation Service is a provider of transportation to the Iron Mountain Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) for a wide geographic area centered on the facility itself. The coverage area is flexible but generally covers a 50-mile radius from Iron Mountain, including most of Iron County.

Service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis Monday through Friday from 5 am to 8 pm. In addition to its services in Iron County, VTS offers a fixed route from Iron Mountain to Green Bay on Tuesdays and a fixed route from Iron Mountain to Escanaba on Wednesdays. See the links at lower right for a flyer and schedules.

Unlike other veteran medical transportation providers in the region, VTS provides special medical support and can transport non-ambulatory veterans. Two 16-passenger vans are equipped with nursing assistants and can accommodate oxygen and wheelchairs.
